Diablo 4 Season 2 Promo Video Pulled After Mockery Over Obvious Errors – eXputer

Story Highlights

Blizzard has removed the Diablo 4 Season of Blood teaser video after the community spotted a number of bizarre botch-ups in it.
The issue was highlighted after a Diablo Twitch streamer, Raxxanterax, uploaded a hilarious video mocking the promo clip.
Diablo 4 Season 2 is scheduled to be released on the day Season 1 ends, October 17.

Diablo 4 Season 2 promo video has been deleted from the game’s social platforms after the fans spotted a number of remarkable factual as well as editing mistakes. Blizzard’s action role-playing title is bracing up for the release of the second season, known as Season of Blood, and the video was part of the promotional campaign.

As spotted and pointed out by a famous Diablo Twitch streamer, Raxxanterax, in his video later uploaded on his YouTube channel, the trailer had a number of bizarre blunders. At the start of the promo 40-second clip, Blizzard wanted to showcase the changes they plan to bring to Nightmare Dungeons in Diablo 4 Season 2 with a side-by-side comparison.

But they messed it up by labelling the change in Season 2 as “Before” and the older Season 1 version as “After.” Moving forward, in the coming Season of Blood of Diablo 4 players will gain more experience points as Blizzard has made them multiplicative of Base, Elixir, and the Seasonal bonuses. Nevertheless, it appears that Blizzard’s video editing team lacks basic arithmetic knowledge because they ended up botching it up.

As seen in the video, they first multiplied 1000 XP with a 40% bonus under “before” for which the listed answer is 1,040 XP when it clearly should be 1,400 XP. But it does not end there, in the “after” section, they multiplied base XP of 1000 with 1.2x Elixir and Seasonal bonus and the answer they came up with in the video is, again, bafflingly wrong.

Furthermore, Diablo 4 Season 2 apparently will come with upgraded mounted speed. They included an illustration of the Season 1’s and Season 2’s mount speed comparison. But, as was the case with the rest of the video, it failed to demonstrate it because you could not make out the difference between the two.

The reaction to the video was very telling as the community ridiculed the half-hearted effort from Diablo 4’s and Blizzard’s team put into the video. So it was no surprise that the newly acquired Microsoft studio ended up removing the video. Many were questioning how the video even made it past the initial editorial review let alone getting posted on Blizzard’s social platforms.

But despite the botched-up promo for the Season of Blood, Diablo 4 fans are excited for Season 2. The title’s first season was a major letdown for the fans as they had high expectations after the game’s successful launch, although that did not derail the RPG’s growth as it had amassed more than 12 million players as of August.

In the released patch notes for Season of Blood, the studio addressed the fans diligently and reassured them. The Diablo community was quite content with all the fixes and features listed in the notes. Nevertheless, the final fan verdict will only be known after the release of the Season of Blood which comes out on October 17.

Diablo 4 was released on June 5 and is available for play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
